To All:
I've received a conditional go-ahead from Bill Wood. The caveats are that they must approve the design and that they retain future production/distribution rights.

I can see it now...

Ok, it's not the grill from my 300TD, but the thought is there.

If my design passes...

For Bill Wood and R Leo,

If you like any of the designs I've submitted, I'd be honored.
I really like the MercedesShop logo anyway. It's just a matter of keeping the look and consolidating it.

Put me down for 2 badges - 1 diesel and 1 generic, if you split them. Otherwise, 2 of whatever you come up with.

Thanks, R Leo, for the idea!

Gravy-man: Likin' the designs! I've already got some smooth wrench imagery at home (I'm at work now), that I didn't know what to do with, maybe I'll rework it into a similar shape as yours, and get some collaboration going.

And for the record, any artistic contributions I make to the project would be freely donated to mercedesshop.com.

peace,
sam

Do we have a volunteer to 'front the money' and handle shipping for all this?

Also, we need a consensus on whether or not we can use the MB star, and whether or not to do two separate badges.

peace,
sam

Once again, it looks like this subject dies!

I've been an MBshop member since 1999 and in those 6 years I have seen the subject of MBshop grill badges come up for discussion at least 6 or 7 times. Each time, although everyone agrees that it is a great idea and would be willing to lay down up to $20 for each badge, the idea and enthusiasm dies like some old bill in congress that gets shot down each time it comes up for a vote.

It seems that some people can't seem to finish what they start.

It's like that old project car in the garage that they just can't seem to find the time for. "It's a nice idea but get realistic".

I for one, won't be holding my breath for an MBshop grill badge.

I'm just a newbie here so I don't know much about the history on this, but if there's still interest in these badges you can definitely mark me down for one.

I am sure that the three pointed star is copyrighted, but I doubt we would be worth going after. We are not trying to profit from reproducing the image.
