Bosch 115 amp alternator interest?? w116, w123, w126
After seeing the thread which linked to the ebay auction for the Bosch 115 amp alternator, which is compatible with the w123, w116, and w126 chasis cars, I decided to locate these alternators. I have located 3 of these alternators, the 115 amp units, which are nearly double the output of our factory alternators. I have negotiated the purchase of these alternators for a price of $75 per alternator. The alternators have all been tested and are in good working order. This alternator is virtually a direct replacement for the factory units, with only small adjustments neccessary. The prices after shipping will be around $105 though, because the alternators must be shipped to me, and then to their final destinations. The alternators were originally priced at $95 so after shipping you will still be saving money. These alternators are compatible with v-belt pulley systems. Any interested parties can pm me or email at BigUps521LRE@aol.com More information about the alternators can be found at http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=93569&highlight=alternator, including instll help and pictures. They will be sold on a first come, first serve basis, so any intereted parties should contact me immediately. These units are difficult to obtain because the Saab 900s and Saab 9000s have 80 amp alternators standard, with these units being optional.

Damn! I saw a 115A unit in a '91 Saab 900 yesterday. I wasn't sure if that was the unit, but it was labeled 115A. And it was right on top of the (transversely mounted) engine, looked easy to remove. I think I'll have to go get it!

HA! Bring a prybar or hacksaw, that bolt backs out right against the firewall with about 1/8" left holding in the alternator. It's not as easy as it looks... |

I just installed one of these BIG BOY alternators in my 83 300cd and it was not as easy as installing the stock unit but after rotating the electrical connections on the alternator itself it fits in and now I have plenty of juice. By the way I ordered it new (129x) and it was only 158$ plus core charge brand new from WorldPac. Now my windows fly up and down.........

I was fully planning on installing one of those bad boys until my alt died and I needed one right on the spot. I just got the stock one in to get back on the road. The plan was to replace the one that came in the car when I bought it with a nice 115 amp and buy a 1300 watt inverter. oh well one of these days I suppose.
