ML270 CDI Availability

Can anyone tell me if the ML270 is/was available in Mexico? I'm moving there and would prefer this model over the ML430 that I have.
Thanks for any info.

The 2006 M-Class that will be getting released in the Spring will have two diesel engine choices:

ML320 CDI: 221HP and 376 ft-lbs of torque
ML270 CDI: 184HP and 325 ft-lbs of torque

If you have enough money to buy brand new(or lease), just wait for the releases.

Ml 270 Cdi

Thanks, Braverichard
There's a few issues with the 2006 that don't give me a fuzzy-warm feeling. The 2006 is larger, which is not the best for old colonial Mexican streets. (I like the size of the M163) Off road options are in question. I need some dirt trail ability. The new diesel V6 block is aluminum. I'm not sold on this for longevity.(I'm an old-fashion cast iron guy)
I'm retired, and I need something to give me years of service without major issues.

The 2006 has even better off-road credentials than the previous model. Regarding the construction of the engine, are you sure about the aluminum block construction? The 3.2L I-6 (which will be replaced by the V6) has a cast iron cylinder block.

It is all-aluminum with cast iron cylinder liners. That's an easy one. I already researched it.

Call up some diplomats and make them an offer... the only ML270's (with 6-speed manual trans!) I ever saw come in belonged to dips.

Cool. I know MB's quality has declined over the past decade, but still with the great improvements made in the construction of these engines, I'm certain the aluminum block of today will outlast the cast iron block of yesterday. Of course, that's my opinion and if I were in the market for a vehicle, I wouldn't let its aluminum engine stop me from getting it.

Where it's needed, it's still iron. If you're going to have aluminum heads, I'd much rather have the aluminum block. This eliminates the different expansion ratio problems of the two dissimilar metals.

If you want a tough truck that will give you years of reliable service get a nice diesel G class. You can go anywhere and look cool doing it.
