617 '05' Camshaft Specifications:

According to the MBZ Reference Guide, this (05) camshaft should be installed to the following specifications @ 2mm valve lift:

Intake Opens 9° ATDC

Intake Closes 15° ABDC

Exhaust Opens 27° BBDC

Exhaust Closes 18° BTDC

Since I plot the valve events of every lobe before installation, I felt oblidged to provide you with the following information. All values are with camshaft installed at a theoretic 'zero' position on the stock timing marks:

Valve Overalp -27.0°

Intake Duration 186°

Exhaust Duration 189°

Intake Centerline 102°

Exhaust Centerline 112.5°

I did not record the lift figures, although each lobe was checked to ensure similar profiles.

Of interesting not, an increase of roughly .001" valve lash will retard the camshaft opening figure by approximately 2° overall.

I hope this information is helpful...Bert
