603 pump pulse

well, I sprung another fuel leak today on the way to work.

A few months ago I had the line to cyl 4 start leaking and no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to stop leaking at the injector where the line attaches to it. I ordered an injector and line, and luckily the line fixed it so I sent the injector back.

Today however, cyl 1 line started leaking, so I just went ahead and ordered the other 5 lines and clips and have taken the car off the road for awhile to do all the other needed stuff such as pull the intake and replace all those seals as well.

The thing is, after I replaced the line to #4, I became aware that when I put my hand on the older lines, I could feel them pulsing with the tick of the engine. The new line to #4, I could feel nothing. What gives?

I guess i'm expecting them all to feel the same way after I replace them.

Hmmm

The new lines are not stressed with age + it may be a couple of thousandths thicker tube.

Injection lines seem to crack at the base that attaches the IP. I make sure all lines are secured by their rubber securing mounts so they don't vibrate and later fatigue the metal and crack!

All my lines pulse, some more so, some less so. I wouldn't worry about it!

Yeah I figured these lines have lasted 230,000 miles so it couldnt hurt to throw a new set on there.

i had that happen on my ol 180D. after i made sure the little brackets that tie one line to the next in several places to keep vibration down were on and tight, it never broke another one.
