Adjust idle speed 300D??????

I cant figure out how to raise my idle speed in my 85 300D turbo......the step by step in a hanes manual is not helping, it mentions an adjustment nut of which I dont seem to have...... the pictures dont look like my throttle linkage?????

Im idling at around 6-700 rpms, should be 8-1000 right?

little help??????

turn that to 1,000 and the cars going to take off on you in gear if you don't stand on the brakes too.

Im on the Eastern Shore.........

Well, it sounds like my idle is where it should be I guess.....But man is it rough.

if I give a bit more gas, 8-1000 RPMS, it seem stop viberating.....It seems to slide into gear pretty easy at the higher RPMs..... I just changed the fuel filters today, Ill see what that does.....It has 570,000 on it.......

Adjustment of the governor idle pin on the back of the injection pump will often take care of the rough idle. A search for "governor idle pin" or "rack idle pin" should provide adequate insight.

Not in a position to look it up right now, but I'm pretty sure correct idle for a 617 turmo engine is 750 or 800.

what do you do with a real rough idle in a 78 that doesn't have a rack dampner ??? injectors are all rebuilt a couple months ago.
