anyone from Willamina, Oregon area willing to check this one out?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6330&item=4537070095&rd=1

I want to find out of this one is worth paying shipping on. I want a clean 116 model. Pretty much impossible to find in the rust belt.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
Wodnek

That back seat looks strangely rippled. What was sitting back there, an elephant?

The rubbreized horsehair pads in 116 rear seats are quite famous for disintegrating with time, even if no one/nothing has sat on them. They tend to cave in just like the photo shows.

All the seat needs is a new rubberized horsehair pad and it will look like new again.

Cheers,
Gerry

looks like a nice car. As far as Ebay bidding goes, do not bid until the last few seconds. Bidding sooner will only raise the price on you. What you dont know, is what condition the engine, tranny etc. is. From looking at his buyer questions, he has may cars and trucks on his property and all of them are wrecks. I would be suspicious about how much care the PO gave it. If you can get it cheap then it may be worth it, but you may have to spend $$$ to fix.

This is why I was hoping that somebody lived in the area and could look at it. I have bought cars on E-bay before but not so far away. With me living in Wisconsin there is just no way to look at it ahead of time. If I buy it I would need to have it shipped and hope for the best. So far I've been lucky, I've bought 4 E-bay vehicles and all have been as good or better then I expected. I would definately return the favor for someone on this forum, though I admit that someone buying something from the rust belt and having it shipped out is pretty unlikely.

aside from the back seat and the engine bay it looks nice - 4 days left and 10 people bidding... anyone want to guess the final selling price?

anyway - i hope you can find some one in the area to peep it out for you - in the unlikely event that it sells for under a grand i would prolly pick it up any way anticipating the worst hoping for the best.

I live about 30 miles from Willamina...I would be glad to check it out on Saturday for you. If you could contact the seller and then arrange a viewing I will take a trip out there and get the skinny for you.
