Mob 1 Truck & SUV now in 5 quart size!

Not sure if this was posted already, but I thought a heads-up in order. LMK if this is already posted and I'll delete this one.

At Wally world, $19.97/5 quarts.

Last time I bought Delvac 1 it was $24/gallon.

Their quarts (Truck & SUV) are $4.88 so that would be $24.40 for 5qts. Hefty savings with the 5qt container.

Bought two today, may go back for a few more tomorrow.

Gotta watch out tho. We have 2 Wal*Mart shops in Madison, One sells that oil in quarts and the other doesn't. Anyways, I'll have to go down there and check it out.

Yeah, the local one here JUST got them in the 5qts, they've previously only sold them in quarts.

I haven't checked in a week or so... but they didn't have it then. Once they start carrying it I'll probably buy a few containers of it. Thanks for the heads up Tom.

Checked our new WM last week. They did not have any 5w-40 T&SUV oil on shelf (had some stupid 5w-20 oil in the T&SUV slot). Got the clerk to search. We finally found this huge case of oil on shelf in back room. Four 5qt jugs in it. Price per jug:$18.88 ($3.78 per quart). I bought the whole case. Hope they get another case in soon.

I hope you guys are not operating under the assumption that the "Truck and SUV" oil is the same as Delvac 1. Delvac 1 is formulated for diesels with added detergents for soot dispersal. The T/SUV is formulated for gas engines and most likely a microscopic if any difference between it and any other Mobil synthetic oil that is formulated for gas engines. Almost all oils developed for gas engines will have a C rating, but it will be an aged C rating and does not have the added detergents that a diesel really needs.

To know for sure look at the Mobil Delvac or Shell Rotella T container for the highest C rating which I THINK is C J4. If the T/SUV oil does not have that C rating it is not what's best for your diesel.

The Truck/SUV, high mileage, etc are simply slight variations or maybe just a different weight of the companies standard oils, but packaged to create a market. Labeling oil in such a way, makes it easy for the average person to choose an oil. They think wow I have a truck, or I have an SUV, this is what I'm supposed to use. From a marketing standpoint, it's actually quite brilliant.

For your diesel, make sure you select an oil with the LATEST C (compression ignited) certification.

Have a great day,
