Question WOT switch and PBU directly linked?

1995 E300D M606 auto

I have no signal (ground or 12v) at the Klima from either the WOT switch or the PBU in any scenario. (I believe from a post from Sixto last year that I should have 12v from the WOT switch normally and a ground signal from the PBU when calling for a/c.) It seems a coincidence that there is nothing from either so I was wondering if there is a link between them other than at the Klima?

I have bridged 12v to compressor at Klima to do these tests and the system works.

can anyone advise , Sixto?

thanks
Keith

Check the overvoltage protection relay if you have one. It has a fuse on top that may need to be replaced. My kickdown switch, climate control and a/c compressor were not working one day and it was the overvoltage protection relay. Mine was located next to the klima by the battery behind the plastic panel.

OVP ok but PBU not sending ground signal

thanks for quick response I appreciate it.

I have tested the function of the OVP and it checks out ok (but could be intermittent I agree). I definitely dont have a ground signal from the PBU to the pressure switch although the wiring has continuity. Am in the process of examining the innerds of the PBU looking for a dry joint but none found so far.

Not sure how the OVP would stop the PBu grounding when PBU performing its other functions (valve control etc) ok - or is there something else I'm missing?

Keith
