Got a 240D

I just picked a 1981 240D 4 speed. I am getting used to a stick shift again. It doesn't like it when its not warmed up ! I am going to run Diesel Purge thru it. I'm going to put the Hella H4 headlights on it. They made a world of difference over the sealed beams on my 300TD. I already work on a 300 turbo diesel but would appreciate any 240D unique tips.

Don't waste your time looking for the ALDA.....
Don't buy more than 4 glowplugs at a time.....
Don't get in front of anything going very fast.... wait until they pass ....then creep out into the traffic....
Don't argue with people when they make fun of how ' slow' your car is...just grin and nod.... we are trying to keep the price of parts cars down...

Pressure bleeder with clutch

One more question. I've always used a pressure bleeder on the brakes so I'm going to use it on the clutch. Will I be OK just bleeding from the clutch slave cylinder not the bleed on the clutch master ?

240ds

see earlier post re 240 mileage. the're really great cars. just be careful passing on the two lanes (plan ahead ... for a week or so) and crossing heavlily traveled streets. especially in an automatic. the automatics should be against the law, especially in the 115 body since it is heavier.
