timing mark indicater on 300D.
I am in the process of setting the start of fuel delivery on a 1981 300D that i have rebuilt. There is two timing pointers on the block. One is live a normal pointer on a gas burner. that you woukd set your timing. The other one sticks out and has half inch hole in it. I have manuels and they all say use the pointer. A mechanic told me that, the pointer was for engine timing and the other one was for fuel timing, that is the one i should use to set the start of delivery. I am alittle confused. What is what. Any help would be nice.

Is the one with the hole in it for the RPM sensor?
