Exterior door handle problem
My 1980 300sd developed a door opening problem today.
When unlocked, it is necessary to go through another door and open the drivers side door from the inside. The vacuum is working on all the doors including the drivers door. Every now and then, if I pull it quickly and very hard, the door will unlock but more often than not, even that does not work. Is this something that is easy to fix myself? Thanks

Its possible and probable that something broke on the handle or lock assembly. I'd remove at least the door panel and take a look at the latch assembly and inside of the door handle for anything broken.
