accelerator linkage ?

one of the male ends (ball of the ball and socket) is loose. its can spin and wobble ever so slightly. Should I dimple the steel it goes through with a punch to tighen it up? Peen the back side? maybe braze it? Its not floppy but I'm trying to reduce sources of slack etc as I go through the car.....The linkage is off the car and easily worked on at the moment...

Had a recent similar problem with VDO linkage to throttle and my parts were off car also. Connected linkage together and placed ball in vice. Slowly and carefully applied jaw pressure to where I had a firm fit with unrestricted rotation.. I know these balls are not expensive, just a little improvision.
