i saw the saddest thing yesterday

I saw this poor poor (looks just like my car so im assuming here) '85 300D turbo. No handles body rusting dirty it was sad. And I looked at the driver and smiled.. ya know out here seeing any 300D is rare. And guess what he did in (and im assuming here too) his jelous rage... he flipped me off... so then i yelled at him to take care of his car, and not let it be run into the ground like that...
if i see it again, ill take a picture of it, it almost made me want to cry it was so sad.

In Texas

Here in Texas, we'd a shot the bastard for abusing that animal, and the courts would have considered it justifiable homicide.

I would say that is probably not the normal reaction you would get from any older MB owner. You have met someone from the 1% group of human life.

I saw something sadder: A 300D 123 sitting in a junk yard, getting dismembered, The body was almost rust free and the interior was beautiful. Wish I could have bought it before it got to the JY.

So what if the engine or trans was bad. These parts can easily be replaced. If the body is in good shape, any car can be repaired or mechanical parts replaced.

hey now, im not an "older" MB owner and I would never act like that... I dont think he was the kind of person who really cared about his car. (I would love to have stolen his still in one piece first aid kit cover. He doesnt take care of his car and its in one piece, i do, and mine breaks )

Point taken - put the context of "older" on the car not the driver

Speaking of sad sights--about two weeks ago I saw a nice SL convertible that had just been rear-ended by a truck.

What I saw yesterday probably wasn't so sad but it was irritating. In the doctor's parking lot of a local hospital here was a 123 just like mine and the damn trunk star is upside down. If this idiot does brain surgery I'm sure there will be alot of people walking backwards.
