Should the Wastegate Shaft be Moveable?
First of all, I want to make sure I'm talking about the proper part. Is the round can with a rubber hose and a long shaft about 12" the wastegate? Well, I removed that part from my 300SDL yesterday and the shaft doesn't move in or out. The flap on the turbo moves very easily though. Is the shaft suppose to move under extreme pressure or what? I tried rather forcefully to move it and it won't. The only way it moves is to the sides.
Thanks David

I found out this piece is not the wategate but the actuator? Anyways, should it be able to move in and out?
Thanks David

Thanks, that's all I needed to know. Now I need to go to the hardware store today to buy replacement bolts/nuts.
Thanks David
