Trouble with return lines

Just got back from a three hundred mile trip in the 616.912 powered Land Rover, (up to the Adirondacks for the weekend) and I’m having some trouble with the fuel return lines on the injectors. I’ve always ran clear fuel line i.e. for weed eaters, etc. but these weekend the got very soft and I even got a hole in one. I replaced them half way home (I keep lots of spare stuff and tools on hand) As I’m heading off for a huge trip this summer I want to get this problem sorted out.

Should I get hose right from Mercedes or is there suitable hose available from NAPA, McMaster Carr, etc.

By the way, I’ve run this type of fuel hose for a few years without trouble but on this trip I was using a larger amount of Powerservice supplement than usual…maybe 4 oz. To 10 gallons. Don’t know if this has any effect or just a coincidence.

Thanks for your help.

Jim

hose power

i always use the factory stuff. it is not very expensive and lasts a very long time. glad to see you're using the very clean looking mb conversion on your land rover.

Get the stuff from the Benz stealership....it may not be the cheapest you will fiond but it will work with B100 and therefore anything you will have in your tank.

Adirondacks LOL. My dad used to talk about a vacation trip he took to Kweebeck, Gas Bay and the Odirandocks. Laugh, I thought I'd bust a gut.
