Looking for 2.47 rear end
Hi All,
I live in San Francisco area, went to all the Pull a Part yards didn't find anything. I would like to change my 83 300TD from 3.07 to 2.47. Any idea where can I find one compatible and how much will it cost? Thanks, Yossi |

You will find a 2.88 ratio much more easily, from a 1985 300D or 300TD
Try Acme in Santa Rosa, tel 707-546-6816 or 415-457-6338.

get ur mechanic to make a note on the repair order if the new speedo cluster awards u more klicks and save the old odometer to prove real miles. 700 rpm drop and best mpg @36 on cruise @ 75 steady. good luck worth the money robert bullard toronto

Rbullard, is that 36mpg on our larger canadian gallon? I would hate to mislead some of our american friends by accident.
Or perhaps you have corrected it to the 3.78 litre rather than 4.5 litre ratio already. Besides the rear end ratios I find myself doing ratio comparisons all the time or clarification of which gallon i am reffering to.

116/123
the diesel geeks put a 2.47 into a 123. i believe they did some not too complicated machining to make it fit. see thread from 2-3 weeks ago.

Do you know where can I get 2.47 ?
Still looking for 2.47 that will fit 83 300TD:-).
I think that the 380, 500, 560 SEL will fit. Thanks, Yossi |
