bad vacuum cutoff in iginition switch

Do you have to pull the whole ignition switch assembly to replace a bad /leaking /oil soaked vacuum valve in the ignition switch. Any detailed guidelines for doing that. Did a search and didnt find much detail. Just the usual references to the switch getting oil in it from a bad cuf off value on the IP Thanks Russ
