Yeah, it'd drive him crazy, since everything is a boat. :D

"I'm going boating" is probably the most common phrase ever around here, even when generally its a "ship" I classify it as a "boat" if its below 15' long, and has under 100hp. Above that its a "Ship" :D :D

At least 70+% of people around here could be standing on a ship and be polled to what they were traveling on, and they'd most likely say "A boat."

I correct people on the diesel stuff, I say "Gas would do bad things to my engine, its Diesel ;)" And I generally also say "accelerator" for the pedal, or "acceletrix and deceletrix" for the pedals (in light of Mr. Burns on Simpsons.) :D

One of the definitions of gas:
5 : driving force : ENERGY <I was young, and full of gas -- H. L. Mencken> <ran out of gas in the seventh inning>

It's fine to say "I gotta go gas up my car." I dont like being a nerdy smartass like some of you :P

An old lady at church once asked me, "why does your Mercedes sound like a semi?" I answered: "my Mercedes and the semis have one thing in common, they use diesel-powered engines." Then she said, "oh... so you mean you use diesel gas?"

Watch it tiger... those are some dangerous terms. You could be mistaken as referring to something else ;)

This reminds me of when I worked in a lumber yard and a lady came in asking for a 2x4 six inches wide, "So you want a 2x6". "No, I want a 2x4 that is six inches wide." :D

....No, but I seem to remember hearing the term "ore boats" and I think that the crew would consider their "ore boat" a ship tho:D

Good example… yup, the cement is the aggregate binder; forming concrete.

Another good one is: "I could care less". :silly:

It's: "I couldn’t care less".

Think again! I was an engineer on a 1000-ft "ore boat". Even the captains and fleet owners call 'em that.

And "pop" is what ya drink, and "soda" is what Arm and Hammer sells.

PotAYto/PotAHto, ToMAYto/ToMAHto, let's call the whole thing off!
