Your heart will break when you go to the Salvage/Crushing Yard...

I was at the salvage yard, turning in my old engine and transmission--thats trash you just cant leave at the curb or put down the insinkerator...
Either there is a big recycling push on or the price of scap steel has gotten more lucrative..you can get $270 for a car if you crush it, I was told. A lot of junkyard owners are finding it more lucrative to crush cars, some that still run and would make decent transpo for a low income family or a teenager.
To make a short story long, I saw them crush a beautiful Gray 85 300D with a shot motor and a nice interior yesterday..the guy just laughed, he said, he had done several last month, one that still ran....My indy has an extra one with a dead motor--I may just buy it as a parts car before they all disappear..
From a practical standpoint, its good that they recycle steel and old cars, I mean you can't save EVERYTHING..but I thought that only applied to Yugo's and rusted shells...
