Expansion Valve Size
This weekend I'll be converting my 87 300D from R134a back to R12. While double checking all of the items that I'll need, I noticed that the new expansion valve I ordered has a R134a label on it. Isn't a different valve used for each refridgerant? I can't seem to find part numbers for different valves for R12/R134a. Any advice from the A/C gurus would be appreciated.

Hey,
For what it's worth, I was told by an Indy just yesterday that they are selling the same expansion valve for both 134 and R-12 systems. The evaporator working pressures are almost identical. It's the condensing pressures that are so much different. Danny

That's about all you can get these days. It will work fine.
Good luck, |
