Unhappy Motor mount Question;

I replaced the engine mounts on my 85 300D-T about 6 months ago...actually had the mechanic do them,,,,
The engine is moving more than normal recently; Can these things go that quickly??? or
Could this be anything else???

Did you use an afternarket replacement?

Yes they can go bad if ya get a bad, new one.
Had that happen to me, engine vibrating, shacking whole car.
Naw, it can't be a bad mount I just put new ones in.
Took comp. check, checked timing, chain lash.
Pulled head, had a valve job done.
ALL for a D@#m NEW motor mount that lasted about 7,000 miles.
And no oil or fluids were on it, clean.
Still has the part # tag on the failed one (right side).
I know how to check them now.

Ok
These were new , and installed by an MB mechanic who specializes in MB's.

How can I check if it's the mounts?

Anything else it may be ???

If the engine is wobbling around more it might be a failing rack damper pin/bolt. Its located on the back of the Injection Pump, mine is in baad shape, the engine shudders and shakes back and forth when its hot, despite my 5 month old OEM motor mounts in there....I will be looking into ordering one soon, I am getting sick of the shuddering and shaking...

I second the rack-damper proposition. Get your twelve and fourteen mm open ends, and get after that thing.

you could

also easily check for loose bolts on the motor mount.
