I saw 2.99 here in atlanta in a couple of places. Soybean oil is still cheaper at costco. I heard a trucker email O'Reilly claiming the oil companies are keeping diesel high to make up for slip gasoline profits. Maybe so. Right now with the fuel economy of my diesel over my pontiac I will take the 48 cent spread in prices. It is pretty close to break even or ahead

diesel prices
Here in Ft. Wayne, Indiana reg unleaded is $2.39 a gal. Diesel is $3.19 a gal. How can any oil company defend this difference?

$2.89 at Sheetz, and I haven't checked the two Citgos, which is where I usually fill up. The Citgos don't put the diesel price on any marque, so it's always a surprise (wheee!) when I pull up to the pump. It was $2.99 last time I filled up. Both cars have over 3/4 in them so I won't find out for a while. It's kind of fun not knowing until I get there ... hey maybe I'll pull in and it will be $1.45 ... LOL

2.99 in south-eastern New York.
87 octane costs as little as 2.59, though I never thought that there would be a day when I would think that 2.59 a gallon is cheap.

In Kansas diesel is like $3.50 and regular is about $2.25 or less. Why the big difference? I thought you could get more diesel than gas from a barrel of crude. You would have to get 50% better mileage to justify driving a diesel unless you are using veg oil. Costco sells 5 gallons of soybean oil for $12. Maybe $13 something with the tax?
