Should have adjusted the valves ages ago.
I just got done adjusting my valves about 200 miles (1.5 weeks) ago. Front half of the engine was VERY tight, back half wasn't too bad with the #5 intake valve being right in spec.
I cleaned off the valve cover with Napa Aluminum Rim brightener. looks great! It idle much smoother and starts easier as expected, but it seems to have drastically improved my fuel mileage! Before, in my normal mixed highway/city driving, I'd get about 21.5-23 mpg. After I adjusted my valves, I filled up with the same fuel as normal, used the same amount of Stanadyne additive as normal, and drove the same amount as normal, and got 26.35 MPG!!! It's amazing!
