ANyone know how many 300D's were produced in 1987?

Out of curiousity, I've been wanting to find out how many 300D's were produced in 1987. I've read in many ads people claiming they are rare but I take it with a grain of salt. I've been able to get production figures for my 123's but I can't find a thing on the 124's. I don't want to buy a book just to find this out.
Anyone out there know?

Well, I'd say what makes it "rare" is that the 603 was only available in the 124 for one year, whereas the 123/617 combo was available for 9 (?) years. So right there it's going to be a lot less of them. I can't remember the exact number produced for our market, but it isn't a whopping total. I wouldn't call them rare, but I'd call them rarer. The percent left on the roads is probably pretty high (like with many old diesel models), because they're nice cars and people tend to hang on to them.

I've heard from many that the 300D with was only available in the '87 but I've seen US '86 year model brochures with a 300D in the model line up and even my CD manual shows an '86.

Some of them were manufactured in 1986, but sold as 1987 models. My car's "birthday" is December 8, 1986. I think there were actually a handful that were sold as 1986 models, but it was literally a trickle of cars ... I wouldn't swear by that, but recall seeing it somewhere.

Thumbs up

Low. How many do you see? That should answer the question. I've seen maybe three around my area and one's for parts.

There were less SDLs too, I think I read 13K total... and 5K in the '87 year only. Numbers around those.
