What color is Trans. fluid for 722.6?

I feel real stupid asking this question.....but what is the color of the MB transmission fluid in the "life time - sealed" 722.6 transmission on my 98 E-300TD suppose to be?
I tried the new "transmission tool" I received the other week and the fluid is a natural oil or translucent yellow and not red like traditional Trans. fluid. I figured this is how MB checks to see if their transmission have been tampered with for warranty purposes by using their own "special" colored fluid. My other MB's always had good quality standard red stuff and no problems.
I stopped by a MB dealer today in my travels and picked up a liter of the MB fluid and was surprised to see it was RED! I asked the parts guy twice if this was the right stuff for my 722.6 transmission and he double checked with a tech. and said yes....
If it is supposed to be red like normal transmission fluid what do you think I have in my transmission? Is there a synthetic brand out there that is this natural yellow oil color? I am confused.............
The car runs and shifts beautifully by the way..
Thanks!

I think I found my own answer. After reading a ton of old posts I found a thread titled [B]99 S500 Transmission[B] posted 8/31/04.
Gilly responds with an actual copy of a MB service document on the 722.6 "life time" transmission. It makes a brief reference to the fluid being anywhere from dark red to a pale yellow depending on age and temperature.
It also indicates that the color does not warrant a change of the "life time" fluid. The part number given in the MB article is the same as the liter Red Trans. fluid that the MB dealer gave me. Interesting.....so I guess I top off my tranny with red fluid that will mix with the pale yellow already in there.
Art 101...whats red and yellow mixed together.....orange?
