Disconnected Vac Line under dash - '83 300D T
While rooting around under my dash this weekend, I found a 'free hanging' vacuum line under my dash and I don't see where it was attached. It originates from a "Y" connector in the engine compartment and goes through the firewall. It sticks out about a foot from the firewall on the inside and was hanging beside the steering column. Any ideas where this should be attached? My cruise control has been acting up recently and finally quit last week....don't know if it's related.
Thanks for your input!! Keith

Is it a black line? There is supposed to be an open black vent line under the dash. BTW, the cruise control is unrelated to the vacuum system on your car. Do a search on cruise control amplifiers.

Yes....it is a black line. So, I haven't disconnected anything under there? I didn't mention this before, but I can blow and suck air through the line. Should there be some resistance in air flow in one direction or the other?
Thanks again....
