Bought a new Diesel!
After totaling my '85 on Monday I've been looking for a replacement. I found a '98 E300 TurboDiesel with 135k. I bought it from the original owner who sold it because he's buying a new CDI. He was a fanatic when it came to maintenace. The car was always garaged and he used Mobil 1 synthetic oil. There was even fresh lithium grease on the door checks. He just had the original glow plugs replaced, front end rebuilt and new Bilstien shocks put on. The interior is nearly perfect and the outside is excellent. It's silver with grey interior. I can't believe how fast this car is.
I have to admit I'm a little scared owning this car because it's not as easy to work on as the '85 and I don't know how much DIY I will be able to do but the car seems to be in really great shape. Scott

I understand your maintenance concerns as I have a 1999 E300. I am not as concerned about engine issues as much as the vast electrical system. Please post a pic of it, if you can.
