That van would be totally bad-a$$ if it was in better shape.

Blech! Hanomag trucks are absolutely the ugliest example of automotive engineering ever. Crush 'em all.

If that ran it would be the perfect vehicle for a college student. At least that's what I think from here.

Too bad it would cost college tuition to fix up to running status.

boys boys boys!

that is not a hanomag. that is a benz. prob a 616 motor. rear drive. might not be that bad to get up to driver status. maybe just a good used motor would do it. prob pretty simple to work on. i always thought they were pretty cool looking. the best front end on a work truck around back then. looks a little like a sl to me.

Nice try but, that doesn't make it any better looking.

Benz bought Hanomag in the early 60s. That's just a Hanomag that was built after the purchase.

Tradition of more than 100 years
The history of trucks bearing the Mercedes star has also been a history of mergers from an early stage. Numerous renowned brands in truck history have been incorporated in what is today the DaimlerChrysler Group. It started as early as 1911 with the takeover of Süddeutsche Automobil-fabrik in Gaggenau by Benz, used from then on as Benz´s commercial vehicle plant. Brands incorporated at a later stage included Auto Union, Hanomag-Henschel, Krupp and the American Freightliner.

well, no drugs

just one of those tiny aspirins each day and a half of a mucinex, and lots of vitamins. and a beer once or twice a month. (german of course)

but look at that grill! that huge tri star!

seriously though back then what other vans were there? ford? chebby? none had any style to them. these mbs did.

and i dont care what you say. you dont know what a hanomag is. hanomags were front drivers. that is a rear drive benz. mb may have owned hanomag but they still built benz trucks.

you know, chrysler may have owned sunbeam in 1967 but they still made dodges and the sunbeam factory was still building sunbeam tigers in england!

i was there in europe in 1970 and again in 1973. that is a benz.

I seem to vaguely remember a quote. In total darkness all the trucks look the same. But i may be confused or something. If it were the only truck in existance it may look pretty good. Gotta go as it's time for my meds.
