Yeah probably the only reason it stayed together was that the wheel was pushing BACK agaist the arm so it was hitting the place where it usually bolts down and just vibrated there rather than fly off.
Had I been turning left at high speeds like I was just before this straight section...it would have let the drivers tire go more left or right and throw me (and my car) into one of the gaurd rails/other cars.
Whew....
