Exclamation HELP, forgot how to reassemble lift pump!

I embarrased to be asking, but I don't have the time to experiment to find out which way the spring and float go back into the lift pump. I did try twice so far. I'm not sure if I got it correct yet. Been up all night... Also can someone recommend a place to buy the clear plastic fuel lines...
THanks all!!
Happy Holidays!

I've done this about a dozen times...but am drawing a blank right now..I think ..the hat sits into the spring...I think the spring is on the bottom going into the pump (hat being upside down) float looks like a little hat, therefor the analogy.

Why do people continue to call the Diesel fuel pump a lift pump, which it isn't.

Its actually a pressure pump as it pressurizes the injection pump.

I especially hate it when I get algae in my lift pump.

Craig,

I hate it even more when people get fungus in their brains and call things by incorrect names.
