1998 e300 td, defective lamp???
I am getting "defective lamp" warning on display and I have found a burned brake bulb which I had it replaced but the warning light is still there. Anyone shared the same problem? Thanx.

Did you use the exact wattage/replacement bulb? Its probably really sensitive to such things. Also, if you did, just unplug the battery then reconnect it, that will reset the computer and it should make the warning go away.

You don't need to disconnect the battery to get rid of a bulb out indicator. It will go out upon restart once the bulb is replaced.

More likely corrosion on one or both of the brake lamp sockets. The manual for my '96 says that the third lamp is not monitored, but your car may be different.
