Hi, everybody, I'm Dave Kent, in Louisville, Ky. aka Glassman. Just bought a '79 300td (which I already love ), and have started fixing little things. PO installed too tall heavy duty rear springs, which create bad rear toe-in, fishy handling, and mighty whumps from the rear cavern(the rear wheel arches show four inches plus above the tires). Does anybody have a pair of used stock springs they'd part with? Or would I be better off getting new stock ones? The car has appx. 300,000 miles, and is in overall very good shape.

I may be the only guy who feels this way, but I really like the light beige ribbed cloth interior. Is there a source for replacement seat covers in this original cloth, or for cloth to repair sections? Anybody have a good left rear lower seat cushion, and good front seat covers from a parts car, etc?

Is there any way to get a question to appear on two boards (Diesel and Tech) at the same time? I'm a painfully slow typist, and typing questions out twice seems like torture.
