Talking When you have a down day at work, being a Diesel head lets you keep your chin up..

Here's to you Terrell Owens! People forgot you played in the Super Bowl last year in 2004 with a broken ankle, risking your career and health and now in 2005, everyone in Philadelphia hates you.
Sometimes, things go great at work, and then there are those times...when you make a mistake and suddenly you....are just out of the Loop. You make a technical error..a system went down and all of a sudden you plunge from the A List to the F list. Friends suddenly disappear, your cubicle gets quiet, the phone stops ringing and email vanishes..You sit there glum in a funk...
Corporate culture has changed and zero tolerance is everywhere and even the smallest technical mistake can lead to sudden silence (real or imagined) when you go into the coffee mess..Could you imagine if Werhner Von Braun or the Wright Brothers were alive today? Von Braun crashed some 200 rockets before his first launch and the Wright Brothers lost quite a few gliders at Kitty Hawk..
Whenever I go into these tailspins I think about last May when the fire department finished pouring 100 gallons of water into my 300D after a dash fire. The next day, the windshield was cracked, the two front tires had lost air and a few days later when i started her, the transmission was Dead! (It had to be replaced)
Well she didnt end up in the junkyard, today she is restored to pristine condition and sits out there in the parking lot! So listen to this everyone.
When the good times come back and everyone wants to be your friend again, remember this. Well everyone needs people, and friends but its like my daughter said when she was 6.
"Dad you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's noses" Thats deeper than you think, because I think it reflects the absurdity of the human condition sometimes! We all need people but boy, they sure can be a hard lot to judge sometimes...

Terrell who?
I'd rather have a bad day at work than something wrong with the car. At least I'll know I'll get home and leave my worries behind at work.

Terrell Owen is the Philadelphia Eagles wide reciever

who played in the Super Bowl last year with a broken ankle and against his Doctor's advice and led the Eagles to the Super Bowl. This summer and during the season, things got ugly between him and his teammates and management and he actually ended up Suspended from the team. Many people feel this was unfair and an example of the new 21st century Corporate Culture. Hey everyone is human and makes mistakes!

It's about time someone gave tribute to that great American hero, Terrell Owens.
How about a statue of Drew Rosenhous, while we're at it?

Seriously, that pathetic piece of trash didn't lead anyone to the Super Bowl.
He never played a game in the playoffs, or many games before them.

Many people support him?? How many? 1% ? Less?
He appeared at an Atlanta vs. Miami basketball game and they flashed a question on the scoreboard;
"Should the Falcons acquire Terrell Owens?"

The crowd booed.

T.O. cares about nothing and no one... but himself.
He is a prime example of the worst kind of teammate.

I agree TO is an idiot.
#1 He trashed his teammates like he's something special....NOT! NOONE win's a game by themselves it is always a team effort. That's what he just can't understand.

#2 he signed a 5 year contract worth millions of dollars. After 1 year he decides he doesn't like it and wants to renegotiate? What an idiot. And his argument is "I don't make enough money to feed my family".

This piece of trash is truly an idiot and got what he deserved.

Whew.....back to the topic.
You can do a million things right and noone knows or cares but make 1 mistake and everyone knows and your up ****s creek without a paddle.
Luckily most people will have enough sense to realize everyone makes mistakes.
A good friend of mine once told me "The only person who doesn't make mistakes is the person who's not doing any work".
Words to live by.

Danny

Speaking of TO, I really enjoyed the half-time fireworks a week or so back in the Philly stadium, celebrating an ex-teammate's accomplishment.

I really tried to think that poor little TO was being victimized by the press, but his own words made that very hard.

Speaking of hundreds of gallons of water, how about more than a billion:

Me either. I'm not even really sure what pro sport is playing now. Football, basketball? Oh well.
