'82v 123 starter HELP!!!!!

Looks like there is a bracket that holds the starter. Two bolts into the starter and two bolts into the engine. Do I take out the starter bolts or the engine bolts??? Need to do this ASAP as my son needs to go back to college right after xmas.

Any help appreciated!!!!!!!

I would pull the bracket off first. The starter must slide forward a little to clear the transmission bellhousing. Paul central FL
