I think number 5 needs some special explanation...sorta confusing.

Also while I agree that NOBODY should be attacked on the forum I do not think monderators and the like are privy to special treatments.

As we have seen in the past and in specific instances, moderators can attack other members and be wrong too.

Personally some (actually MOST) of whunters bumps are useful and bring back very good threads. I would rather have him bumping...and I imagine that he isn't doing it for the numbers.

Is it acceptable if we bump a thread if it contains a question that we didn't get an answer to? For example, if I ask a question and it sort of slips between the cracks and ends up at the bottom of the pile, but I really want an opinion. Granted, this rarely (pretty much never) happens ... usually I am amazed at how quick and thorough responses are. I'm just curious because I know every once in a while there are very busy days where some posts might kind of get lost in the shuffle.

Thanks Brian.
Long ago, I made a foolish blunder bumping antique posts.
I exercise greater restraint now, and can laugh about it.

YES, it is acceptable to bump a thread if it contains a question that you didn't get answered.

#5 refers to setting at the computer for hours bumping dozens of posts per hour, for no reason.

I don't think anyone would object, if a person bumped one thread per day at random, for no reason.

I remember when a good soul got janked off the forum for bumping threads. I was actually outraged that a prominent forum member could get censored for it. I wrote the mods and complained about censorship and argued that the fellow get re-instated; made me real upset.
Bumping threads is a good thing! Keeps great info alive!
...(little did I suspect that someone would actually do it for hours for no reason... ) no reason...?!?

Unknown, at this late date, I can't recall what my thoughts where, and that might have been just prior to kidney stone #11.
Rational thought and a kidney stone do not go together.
Morphine, and other medicines don't help you think either.
Thank goodness it was only a couple days, I almost died from shop forum withdrawal shock.
