According to my service manual, the 617.952 engine redlines at 5200 rpm (no load). These beasts are capable of 120 hp @ 4350 rpm and 184 lb*ft of torque @ 2400 rpm.

ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY FOUR POUNDS OF TORQUE???? whoa now... I thought it was 170 this whole time... was I mistaken? oh well... the higher the number, the more bragging rights i have.

The '85 California models got 118hp and 177 lb*ft. Don't brag too much, these numbers are probably at the crank, not the rear wheels. The car does weigh 3,780lb. Still, not bad for 19 year old car. You can't beat the performance you get for the simplicity.
