I think it looks pretty cool in general, and yes would be a great wvo vehicle for hauling it and other things, but if that was done out of a perfectly-fine 123 I'd not like it. Only if the original car was hit in the rear or something. I'd probably also do further work on it to allow a fold down tailgate, it couldn't be allll that hard to make it do that right?

I'll bet its darn fast too!! It probably shed a few hundred pounds at least with that setup.....

Still a good truck

If it has the wagon's leveling system, ... it'd be good for 1/2ton. I could use it for my shop truck, would love to have it. Sure beats driving a Chevy PU truck for the shop, and there are so many 123s around in junkyards, who cares if someone chopped one?

The big question is where are the photos that are NOT 5-1/2years old?

Deception breeds doubt...

The question of "why no tach?" is answered by, "it's not an '85." There is also no blue transmission vacuum pod under the hood by the master cylinder. Just because you put a newer engine/tranny in something certainly doesn't change the year model.

I ran the VIN on the Russian site and it WAS an '83TD. Since the odo shows the 5k claimed in the ad it would seem the entire dash, not just the pad, was exchanged for the uncracked blue look.

If I'm bidding on a diesel truck it will be one of a little more serious capacity

I don't know why you guys are bashing it so hard. It obviously took quite a bit of work and creativity. I think he should be applauded for his ingenuity!

From what I can see I like it. Maybe a lot of us are secretly starved for driving a Mercedes Benz Diesel Truck.

I think it's a slick idea, even if the execution isn't the greatest

If I had a need for a truck, that would be the truck Id want. However, id want to raise it a bit, but not too much, and find more truck-like wheels, wheels more utilitarian yet stylish looking to match the MB lines. Oh, and throw a set of mudflaps on and a chrome roll bar.

I think thats cool.
