sypmtom of turbo oil drain seals?

'83 300 D 148k.

Yesterday while performing an oil change, I noticed underneath that oil seems to be leaking from the plastic U-shaped tube at the turbo. Would this be indicative of oil drain seals needing replacement or something more sinister with the turbo itself?

Thanks in advance.

In my '90 W124 300D I recently changed:
the top (paper style gasket) at the Turbo,
the bottom (paper style gasket) at the Engine, just above the oil pan,
and 2 O-Rings in between the three rods which make up the return oil pipe.

It's been about 2000 Miles, and havn't seen any oil yet. So unless there is a crack, a simple change of these seals will do the trick. Cost about $15 at MB dealer and 1 hours work. (Good insurance to have, for a oil leak free engine).

Make sure you clean off with sand paper, the old (paper style gaskets) before applying the new ones.

Regards.

if its leaking from the utube that means there is oil in the tube. its from the crankcase vent. not uncommon on older engines
