The Diesel ML is coming.

Just got a look at our new 2007 Dealer Ordering Guide today.
There are 2 new ML's being released this fall as 2007 models.
The ML63 AMG and the ML320CDI.
There are no offical prices released yet but, the 320 should
have the new 224hp / 510nm V-6 CDI Diesel.
Looks like signs of life at the old MBUSA.
I better get on the waiting list for mine!!.
I can't wait!!!!

Think the dealer is expensive? Do you know how much it costs to train a dealer tech? Or buy the required MB special tools to have on hand?

The actual specs for the 320 bluetec V6 are around 211 hp and 540Nm of torque from as low as 1600 rpm.

The GL(not ML) should achieve 26 mpg highway.

Tom:

Let's you and I get on the list for used ones now!

I've thought about putting a Mercedes star on my 1997 Toyota 4Runner,
and pretend it's an ML.

I saw the GL450 at the Minneapolis Auto Show last weekend, and I liked both the interior and exterior styling very much. The talking head there spoke of no plans to make a diesel version (stateside) when I asked, however.

Is this information *really* new?

So its safe to say Mercedes is going for big fender bulges for all their cars in 2007 or what? Looks nice, but gets kinda ridiculous when they have it on everything, reminds me of the new Mazda RX8 and MX5. Used to be reserved for things like the 500E but then it was nice and subtle.

A couple of months ago Mercedes Enthusiast (UK) ran an article about a publicity drive arranged by MB to drive cross-country on US 80 with two of the new ML320 CDI's and a Lexus RX400h hybrid, with the goal to show that Diesel was just as economical as the hybrid (they brought their own low-sulfur diesel in a chase truck). Over a few thousand miles, mostly highway, one of the ML's got 31.1 mpg and the other got 30.7; the Lexus got around 27 mpg.
