Wagon not level after sitting.

Hello all,

I've read a lot about how to adjust the SLS system in my 1981 300td wagon, but I couldn't find a thread on why the rear sags after a bit with the motor off. It does pump up right away though. Hope there is an easy fix. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

My quick guess would be a leak if it sags way down aftewards quickly. But not neseccarrily. I'm no expert but it is a possibility. Mine seems to stay in the upright position at least for a few days which is the longest I've had it without running it.

Your oil pressure is bleeding down. If it pumps right back up when started then thats my guess. I just dont know that much about the wagon suspension.

I'm thinking leaking oil pressure too. I know it is not leaking out of the system. Any rebuild kits out there?

Thanks

I haven't looked but I hope there is if that is the problem. These components are EXTREMELY expensive. I would verify that this is your problem (I'm agreeing with the pressure thing as well if you know it is not leaking) then give Phil a ring and see if they make anything. If they do I'm sure he can find it for you.

you need to rebuild the height adjustment valve

It's the valve in the rear of the car that controls the hieght of the car. Assuming nothing else is leaking...

It's a one day project and you can get a rebuild kit from Phil, it a messy job but not techically difficult and takes about a day.

I have seen another post on rebuilding it that I used, but I can't seem to find it.

Mine did the samething until I fixed...

Thanks to all!

I'm going to hopefully tackle this and also the K1 spring kit over spring break. I'll try to post some pictures.

Thanks!
