Woman stuck in trunk of a w126 MB on CBS Crime show tonight-How would you survive?
Not sure of the name of the crime show, but a missing woman is stuck in the trunk of a black W126 Mercedes on top of a parking deck. The police are trying to figure out how long she can survive in there with a limited oxygen supply and she has bronchitis.
How would you survive it? I would tear a side panel out and get to the trunk vent and rip it off to let some air in then if I could, kick the back seat out. What about you?

Good luck kicking the back seat out with the rear firewall there. It'd be easiest to kick the tail lights out, to get some air.

Kicking back seat out would be slightly difficult, since there's a fuel tank there, unless my limited knowledge of the 126 chassis fails me....
if I were to ever get trapped in the trunk of my SD, seeing as the trunk lid is aluminum I'd just kick that out.. I value my life more than a trunk lid....but then finding a trunk lid could be expsensive!

The trunk is NOT air tight so you would not suffocate. But if it was really hot then to get fresh air I would just pull the rod that operates the trunk lock if its like a 123 or kick out a tail light.

I would poke my fingers through the rust in the wheel wells or windshield seal and crawl out of the opening....

Easy, pull vacuum lever to "unlock" the trunk lock, then kick out a tail light (should be quite easy) then reach out, click button, and the trunk will open right up.

A few days ago here in town, some guy in a W124 got carjacked and put in the trunk by the carjackers. He escaped somehow after the carjackers fled the car, I don't know how, since most old MBs don't have some latch from the inside you can pull to open it from the inside like newer cars do.

two options
#1 kick the **** out of the deck lid. #2 Since you are already squeezed in the trunk, twist on around and KISS YOUR ASS GOODBYE!!!!

Start a fire
Light the spare tire on fire so the fire department opens the trunk after putting out the fire simple I could not resist.

Oh, simple answer... if it is a half hour show, she can make it 28 minutes. If it's an hour show, she can make it 58 minutes.
Seriously don't they have a small factory tool kit? Also, don't most owner's of W126's have a toolbox full of stuff in the trunk? I have some in my W210, never had to use them, but they are there. Ooops, did you say a woman in the trunk? Unfortunately if she as mechanically inclined as my wonderful bride, she is dead.

if the 126 trunk is anywhere near like a 123 sedan's trunk here's what i would do.
1) Unscrew the taillight rear cover and push out the taillight. or maybe put a string on the taillgiht and lower it slowly. So as to avoid breaking anything in my MB 2) Now that i have more air and a little light coming in, i'd look for the back plate near the center of the trunk where it covers the lever/line to releasing the trunk. Once i foudn it, id remove the cover and simply open the trunk using that line. 3) Once trunk is open, i'd climb out and put everything back, as if nothing happened. No broken anything... drive the car home. .if i wasnt home.
