Can anyone tell me when M.B. started using the adjustable rack damper on the IP? My 79 300sd doesn't have the adjustment bolt on the back plate.

Tom, I have a '79 300SD, and I have the bolt.

I just went outside and read the tag on the side of my IP with a mirror and a flashlight. The tag is the Bosch governor designation, and it will tell you what year your pump is, and what governor you have.

There were two governor types in '79. The standard version, and the USA version. Perhaps the standard version is California???

My number was: RW 375/2200 MW 22 which is for USA 1978/1979. Green type rating plate.

You may have the Standard Version Which is up to 1980 and the number is: RW375/2200 MW 28-1.

Thanks for the numbers Super Turtle, I'll check my numbers and see what I've got. As I understand it, there was a kit to add the rack damper bolt. If anyone knows the part number for this item, please post.
