85 300D--AC--worth replacing Expansion Valve--its only $25.00...

On my 85 300Dis it worth replacing the Expansion Valve--its only $25.00...--I've had so many failed compressors, I'm starting to wonder!

From your other posts I assume your doing a complete rebuild. Why would you not replace the TX valve?
You have to remove it to flush anyway.
