Nice 300SDL on eBay

I found this 300SDL on eBay.. looks like a VERY nice car and very clean. He's going to get a lot of money for this one....

I'm seriously considering it.. would appreciate thoughts on:
-See anything wrong with the car? Description looks good, he's done a lot of work on the car, and it looks overall in good shape. Most of the other ones on eBay are much more beat up and have well over 150,000 miles!
-What will this one sell for? I saw one with 171,000mi (this one has 150 something) that went for $6300 but that seems a bit high, doesn't it? Maybe not.. I haven't followed prices of these cars recently. What would be a good amount if I wanted to make a cash offer to the seller?

It's a Canadian car - that speedo and mileage is in KM. Nice machine but I bought an 83 (with much lower mileage) two months ago. My CEO would kill me if I picked up another (plus I have no where to park it).

I always cringe at the risks involved in buying a car through E-Bay. There are a couple of decent independent Mercedes shops here if you wanted someone to inspect it before you put in a major bid.

Lower mileage diesels seem to pop up more often in Ontario than they do in the US. If you are in the NE or midwest in the States, search www.autotrader.ca for Mercedes using "all of Ontario". There is often a 190 or a 300sd with less than 200,000 KMs available. Rust is the killer here thanks to excessive salt use in the winter.

While the engine should be good for many more miles, barring an overheat condition, isn't the transmission reaching the end of a normal life span?

Other than the fuel mileage issue, are the diesel 126 vehicles less expensive to maintain than the much less expensive (now) gas 126 cars?

also the seats look identical to mine, but he states they are leather. wouldn't it be MB Tex? what do you guys think?
