Just tightem 'em with Kentucky torque. You won't break them and you're just sealing a gasket. You won't get a torque wrench on them anyway due to the contorted shape of your arm in just trying to get in there with the universal and the 3/8" ratchet.

Wait a minute.........I'm thinking of the drain line.............

But, the same theory applies to the supply line.

Okay, I'll just tighten to where I feel is secure.

IIRC, they are 8mm. These are good for about 24 ft.-lb. maximum. 20 ft.-lb. should be more than sufficient.
