Herb Phillips has a time-warp '82 300TD on ebay...

I just noticed that Herbert Phillips has probably the cleanest 300TD I have ever seen on ebay.

This is a time warp car if there ever was one.

I wonder how high it will go...

I also notice he has a Buy it Now of $18,500.00.

I think this is the first time I've seen him use the Buy it Now feature.

You know, I wouldn't be terribly surprised if someone actually does pay this much.

Well, the auction ended at $8,100, but didn't meet his reserve.

I guess I'm kinda surprised it didn't go higher.

Do you think he'll re-list it, or sell it to the highest bidder?

Paul, he ended it early.......probably sold it to someone who begged him to own it before the auction ended.........

Many of his auctions close this way.

I hate it when he does that 'cause nobody knows what he let the car go for.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind.

I got a relative who keeps higher mileage cars, and is fed up with the battle of getting them to pass smog every two years.

Just spoke with him today, and he is considering with either going with a pre-smog car (pre-'75), like a '65-'67 Ford Galaxie 500, or a W126 SD or W123 turbodiesel. Would be nice to know what a time-warp mint car would go for.

I sold it early.. you have me pegged. I asked $14,300 and recieved it in minutes. Could have sold three, perhaps four of them. Have another incoming right now, soon back to market. Also a few others. They're getting hard to find!

Probably would have fetched $16 ish if I held out, but what is it they say about a bird in hand?

Thanks for the info.

Yep, you already know what can happen when you wait for two people who must have it. Sometimes you get them.........sometimes you don't. The market is real fickle at that level.........and.........the chance of buyer's remorse is that much greater. Better to take the bird in the hand..........never any buyer's remorse..........the buyer is only too willing to take it away from the auction!
