A 617 in a gasser coupe conversion?????

I would love a 300 cd, kinda hard to find around here.Anyone ever put a 617 in a gasser coupe?? Tranny the same??? How bout vaccuum???Is there a vaccuum system in the gasser?? Thanks a lot in advance for any info!!!

he makes a good point, but if you have a donor car no reason you cant do the switheroo. it would be a lot of work though.

And the worst part of the conversion would be ......???? The gasser doner car would be cheap less than $600 perfect body too!, 617 engine and tranny shouldn't be too hard to come by.I can't seem to touch a decent 300cd for less than 3-4 grand.

nothing too bad i dont think. i dont know for sure about the gas tank. i seem to remember some have said they are the same, but i dont know.

and the gasser is a euro right? so does it have the simple ac controls? crank windows? manual sunroof? these are good things for a keeper. imho

Euro, i don't think so.I mean it looks the same as a cd, headlights and all.Fuel tank is a good point.Controls are the simply ones but are they vaccuum controled?power window and sunroof unfortunately.Mb tex seats.

Should be pretty close. Removing the gas pump, swap radiator, tachometer change, and a few small nit pickey things.

It can be done without too much hassle. If you have the donor car with you to swap between, it should be a weekend project.

that would be a long weekend in my book. i would estimate more like 30 or 40 hours.

i was thinking euro because in that era most us models were diesels. and i thought you said 230 but in looking back i dont see that.
