Transmission problems in my 300 D

I have an 81 300 D with 215,000. I had the transmission rebuilt about a year ago but there are some lingering problems that I hope are just adjustment problems. The 1-2 shift is real hard first thing in the morning. Second, in 3rd gear pulling uphill at 25 mph there is a banging that sounds like its in the drivetrain or exhaust system. Lastly, I occasionally get a a "flaring" in the 2-3 shift but only after sustained expressway driving. It was recommended that I change the K1 springs. I purchased the part but note that the part # is 126 270 44 77. Will this fit in my MB 123 with the 722.118 transmission? Any insights or suggestions would be appreciated

Ironic that you ask this question at this time...

Reg300D,
I'm planning and getting ready to answer your very question... probably tomorrow!

My situation is with a 1980 300D[na] M-b with a 722.118 transmission and 300K miles. The K1 kit is made for the 722.3 & 722.4 trannies and you will not find a comparible kit for our series trannies [ 722.0/722.1/722.2 ].

If you can be patient, I'll answer your question.

I'll probably end up having to rebuild this tranny, so can you give me the particulars of who you ended up using for your rebuild?
From one who is only slightly less of a "NewBie" !
