Question Mercedes 300D Flasher Unit -where is it?

Lots of help the Haynes and Chilton manual are with this one!Can anyone tell me where the plug in flasher unit is located for the 1984 300D?
Got a new one and can't find the old one to change it out.
Thanks in advance for your help. Oh, maybe need to clarify that I'm talking about the 3 prong round turn signal part that makes the turn signals flash when turned on.When this isn't working the turn signals come on but won't flash.

Do you mean

Do you mean under the hazard light switch in the center console? This thing is too big to fit inside of the switch.Am I missing something?

I haven't actually opened the console and looked, however if I put my finger on the hazard switch (not pressing it) while the turn signal is on I can feel the relay toggling.

To my knowledge, it *is* the flasher switch. It may have changed with the smaller late-model ones, however.

in the sd the only thing behind the cluster is the noise maker for the blinker system, the actual relay is in the fuse box. open the fuse box and turn the blinkers on, you should feel it clicking.

The FSM shows the flasher for the W126 to be behind the Instrument Cluster.
I looked through the one for the W123 but it does not component location pages. It may be in the same area?

I pulled all the relays in the fuse box, none of them matched the relay I got from phil... maybe he sent me the wrong one? which relay goes to the turn signals? do you have a picture?
